Jenn came to massage therapy after a career in mathematics. Trained for left brain life, she wanted more balance and found it in healthcare. Attending Muscular Therapy Institute in Boston gave Jenn the foundation to start a thriving business. Private practice was opened in Wellesley, Massachusetts and within 18 months, staff was secured and the first move was underway. Previous work experience includes a chiropractic office, a gym and corporate chair massage accounts, all the while emphasizing private practice. After 12 years and three expansions, with a staff of eight complimentary therapists, Jenn sold the practice of Jenn Sommermann & Associates (JS & A) in 2003 to be able to relocate to New York. Once in New York, Jenn opened Massage by Land & Sea, providing therapeutic muscular therapy and body education in the privacy of people's homes, boats and offices.
Jenn's teaching career started in 2000 at Muscular Therapy Institute and also included New England School of Acupuncture. Jenn's areas of expertise include Practice Management, Social Media and Ethics and she is currently on faculty at Swedish Institute in New York City. A broader audience is reached through continuing education as Jenn travels around the country offering her classes to schools and organizations.
Coaching and consulting has become a natural extension of her 18 years in the field. Jenn has coached hundreds of healthcare professionals in all aspects of their business, encouraging them to "work smarter, not harder".
